Episode008: When Aladdin Reminds You Of Jurassic Park
Welcome back! We are happy to see you! Thanks for some of your suggestions for Denver and the surrounding areas. Keep ’em coming! This week we discuss one of our closer road trips we took to Manhattan, Kansas to see one our our friends. On the way down we stopped for a Mediterranean lunch at the Aladdin’s Cafe in Kansas City, MO.
Info, activities, and food:
Kansas – We don’t talk about the state of Kansas much, but here is a link to learn more about it.
Little more info specific to Downtown Manhattan
Bourbon & Baker – the amazing topas style resturant similiar to our dinning experience at Mezza in Washington, D.C that we talked about in Episode 6
Bluestem Bistro – The ‘adult’ coffee options are a must! And the frangelica coffee is a winner buy – thanks Jodi for the pound of coffee!
Varsity Donuts – donuts … and 10 PM special of a grilled mac and cheese sandwich
The Chef – Brunch!
Little Grill – Jamaican Food
Random Tidbits:
Jason’s first movie in the theater, Jurassic Park and the theme song
Catie’s memory of either watching Jurassic Park… or was it Hocus Pocus? NOT to be confused with Double, Double Toil and Trouble
Sardine Avocado Toast Recipe – Seriously, it sounds yucky, but it is delicious!
The recipe that Jason talks about is similar but instead of sardines, saute some mushrooms and onions together with soy sauce. He also mixed mayo in with the avocado. He didn’t measure things… so just eyeball it!
Other places we didn’t have time to try:

Marry Poppins! Yes.. that’s not a movie I grew up with, so I didn’t even think of it.
